{Time and again}…
Finally after so long, I am back on the track of knitting and writing. I haven’t been able to actually do either because of my lack of time. It’s been a month since school started, and now that things have settle down to the point where I’m actually doing things like I’ve been doing them for my entire life, I decided that I should pick up my needles and yarn/pen and paper. No point procrastinating the return of these hobbies; it won’t do me good, at the end.
So, yeah… I frogged my mistake-filled Montego Bay Scarf on the way to school and now I’m happily knitting my way up. Say, I really missed the way yarn felt around my fingers; especially the yarn that I painted myself. I hope that I get to purchase more yarn soon, because I’ve not even gotten what I need to knit the hat for the swap(Oops!). Neither have I the yarn to start on my first pair of socks(Well, I have sock yarn, but no way in hell am I going to use my precious hand-painted yarn(a gift from my friend on my first pair of socks. What if I destroyed them?!). I’m also considering the option of getting white yarn to paint on. This way, the Sheepies would have more hand-painted yarn instock and for sale.
As for the writing, I’m currently working on a story called “Severus’ Destiny”. I expect it to be completed next-yearish, considering the rate I’m going now. It is expected to be quite lengthy because it will be very content-filled. Guess what? I’m not even on the first chapter! Prologues don’t count, by the way. The idea of the story actually originated from one of the books in the Twilight Saga. It’s only with this story that I believed how a story can pounce on an author just so that it could be written. The muse fairies are ingenious; evil, but definitely ingenious.
Currently, I’m working towards a future where dreams come true. Directing, producing, working behind a camera, presenting a world-class film to the world… These are things that I can do, and I would do. Just because I’m lagging behind a couple of years doesn’t mean I’m stupid or unwilling to work for what I want.
I hope that I’ll be able to fulfill my dreams, and at the same time earn big money. I’m talking more than a few thousands a month here. Wouldn’t matter if I have to move overseas, as long as I can live in Europe one day…
By the way, anyone knows where in Singapore can I learn squash? I’m interested in picking up a sport that I can do alone…. (:
Ciao!
Subways? No… Quiznos!
In my childhood, meals were never like what I saw in the movies on TV. Breakfast was always Milo and bread with margarine spread, lunch a simple bowl of porridge, and the nights always ended with rice, soup, stir-fried veggies and maybe a little bit of meat here and there. Very seldom did I even enter Mcdonalds for a meal, since my parents barely considered the burgers, fries and soft drink a decent meal for us growing kids. In addition, to them, fast food was always considered over-priced; they definitely minded paying S$6 for a meal. So it was obvious that my knowledge of the fast food around were limited.
I first got introduced to Subway when I was in my early teens, and that was the first time I realized that some people out there in the rest of Singapore actually did consider fast food as a choice for a filling meal too. It was also the beginning of my bugging my parents to bring me to Subway, just so that I could have one sandwich. (Need I point out that for a teen aged 11, there are limited ways one could get food that she was really fascinated with?) Of course, like all other parents out there, all my dad said was, “Ok, we’ll go next week…”
Let’s just say that the “Ok, we’ll go next week…” excuse could only be used so many times before I gave up.
I finally got to try my first Subway sandwich a couple of years later, at the young age of 15. I didn’t like the amount that I was charge with for the sandwich, but since I could pick and choose the type of veggies I wanted(NO STINKY ONIONS!), and demand for more olives and pickles, I was pretty satisfied.
Years passed by, and I was still reliant on Subway because I still enjoyed the way they served sandwiches. Fresh veggies, warm toasted bread… Nothing much that I didn’t particularly like, just satisfactory, like I’ve said.
Then today… I DISCOVERED QUIZNOS!
Well, I didn’t exactly discovered it… My friend works there and thus I thought that I could tag along to try something new. She did say that the prices was around that of Subway’s, so not much of a problem there.
It’s delicious, I tell you. Subway is in no way better than this. Subway has more choices, maybe, but at Quiznos’, the subs are much tastier and the veggies are fresher than that of Subway. They also provide internet access and power points are placed at the corners of the shops, so it’s pretty convenient for people who carry their laptops wherever and whenever. My favourite thing was that they actually had a small counter where they placed a few types of sauces and we could just take as much as we need. They also placed green peppers, banana peppers(weird…), jalapeños and pickles on the same counter, and we could just add them to our subs.
The only con to Quiznos’ subs is that you don’t get to choose what veggie is in, and what veggies were out. I think that we are allowed to tell them not to put them in, but you don’t get to do your impromptu ordering like you do in Subway.
I am really impressed by this first experience here at Quiznos, and I’ll be sure to be back…

First day of school (:
WOW! I survived the first day of school! Can you believe it? I can, but heh, I didn’t really expect it to turn out this greatly. Well, it’s not exactly perfect but I had fun. I think.
This morning I woke up at 6 a.m. Amazing, ain’t it? I think the last time I woke up earlier than the sun was before my O level exams. Anyway, after showering and dilly-dallying about the house, I managed to leave the house with my dad at around 7 a.m. and caught the early morning bus 913. I was about to buy breakfast at the bus interchange when I saw that bus 961 has arrived! I reluctantly boarded the bus, knowing that my stomach would be empty until I reach the petrol kiosk near my school.
At long last, I dropped off the bus and made my way to the Esso station next to my school. After grabbing a butter bun and a bottle of my beloved Pokka Milk Tea, I left for school.
[I made a very stupid mistake by reaching school at 9 a.m., because other than tuesdays and wednesdays, school starts at 10.15 a.m. Thus, I spent an hour lazing at the school's cafe. Thank you, Yana, for accompanying me so early in the morning!!]
Anyway, I had Math and Chemistry lesson this morning. Math was really boring as there were no proper lessons. Instead, all we did was games. I really hope that the 2nd of February comes quick, since I would really love to start lesson proper. Chemistry was fun though. Miss Selena was LOUD, that’s for sure, but she was hyper and so filled with energy that it was impossible to feel bored in her class. In addition, one of my classmates, Wilson, was really adding spice to the mood and all. So, with all things considered, the lesson was actually real fun.
In between the two classes was of course lunch, in which I spent my time with new found friends: Yana, Chappy, P.K., Shu Wei, Z., Marlene, Vanessa and Yong Liang. We walked to Tiong Bahru Plaza, under the guidance of Yana, Chappy and P.K., and ate at KFC. Finally after sooo long I get to eat KFC!! (:
Anyhow, I took a bus with Z. and Marlene to Woodlands Interchange after school and split from them to go home.
There you go, my first day of school…
PHEW!
Well, favourite song of the day: The Man who Can’t Be Moved.
It’s so brilliant and I ended up in tears! *sniffles*
Under the stars with her.
Yesterday, I finally had the chance to go out with Gladys. I miss her, dammit! Miss SK and Geral too. *pouts* Hate it when I have to go through weeks without seeing them. It’s really something different as compared to Secondary School, where we see each other even if we didn’t want to. Hope I get to see the others soon.
I’m in this fidget-y mood now, and, you know, it’s freaking annoying!
I think it’s the nerves(school starts in one day’s time). I really don’t like meeting new people, so new environments can be fatal to me. What’s more, with the humiliation that I went through during the orientation program, things are worse.
Hmm… Or maybe it’s just Chinese New Year. BUAH!!!! I’m broke! No money to even buy that beautiful jacket I wanted. Pfft. I hate the festive season.
Sigh. Anyway, bedtime now. Nights. (:
Favourite video of the moment, Chasing Pavements.
Not exactly sure why I love it. I think it’s cuz of the scenes where the people are dancing together while lying on the pavement. Pretty cool…
Fickle-minded Lover. That’s me!
I guess now that I’ve started yet another blog, people will start to think that I’m a really fickle minded person. I do wish to rebuke that and say “I’m NOT!”, but I can’t, because in many ways, I am fickle, and not even a word from a most authoritative force and change that – Sadly. Well, in anycase, there is no place in the world for regrets, acquiesco?
Heh, anyway, this post is just one to inform you that this blog would be an archive of my favourite things, from songs to movies, from photos to videos. I guess I would end up adding my favourite stories, and be warned, for there would be… SLASH. (:
So…
Erm, I’m gonna go now, but I’m leaving you with my favourite song of the moment, “Heart and Soul”. It’s the song that you would find in a few movies, the more well-known ones being “Superman” and “Stuart Little”.
Here you go:
